Main Components of a Blog
Posted by Abdz - 04/07/09The internet has brought by many new opportunities for many different people. It has first of all made it possible for people to communicate with loved ones all around the world. This communication is easier faster and more reliable, because applications like VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and IM (Instant Messaging). This means that the land line telephone is going through the window. However, cell phones are becoming more and more popular because of the new OP’s (operating Systems) software companies are creating. Now it is possible to get the internet on your cell phone, which means that you do not need you cell phone to make normal call anymore, because you will now be able to do VoIP and IM over the internet on your cell phone.
The communication aspect of the internet has been taken a step further with the creation of the blog ( or web log). This has created a whole new platform for people to keep in touch with loved ones and communicate with just about every one in every country in the world. Blogging can be done on your cell phone too. However, blogging for personal communication is not the only type of blogging around.
Before we get into that, you need to know that there is blogging and then there is micro blogging. There is not much difference in the two, where both are used to reply information from one person to another or to a group of people. That has not and will never change about blogging. The only difference is that micro blogging is a quicker way to replay a message, because you will be updating your profile with short messages only – similar to an SMS, where as blogging (the normal kind) can be as long as your want, and as details as you want.
What should or does a blog contain?
Again, what goes into a blog is all up to you. Also, what you put in your blogs all depends on what you are planning for your blog to do. Do you want to communicate with friends and family? Do whatever you want, put flowers in your BG (background) if you like. If you are more the business type and are looking for a way to market your business or the products you sells or need to promote, then you will need to be a bit more careful. This is because most good blogging sites have a strict policy about blatant marketing on their sites. You will notice that people pay for advertising on these sites.
First off, make sure that your blog has an intro, a middle and an ending. Make it compelling and most of all, make it readable, make it entertaining and make people want to come back for more. if you just chuck a whole lot of products onto a page and hope people take note, it will never happen, and your blog will get suspended for advertising. You have to be creative – write your marketing blog as a story, and tell people about a product you saw or are interested in – then stick a link in there for them to follow.
