You can blog about anything you like, even if you have nothing to sell. If you want to create a blog because you enjoy writing and are thinking about making money from advertising, here is a tip: Be very careful of using your blog as a link farm.
What are Link Farms?
Link farms are websites that list hundreds of links to other websites that also have hundreds of links on them. Most of the time a link farm will not contain any useful information, and annoy the readers because they go to unrelated websites. If you want to get advertising from your blog that is fine, but don’t overdo it. You should only opt in for link exchange programs that are related to your business and when you place your link on another website it should also be related.
Google and other search engines will look at how many quality link exchanges you have and this can also play a part in your SEO. If you have to promote your website to get advertising and want to display this, you should look at things like Google Adwords for quality links that you can also make money from. You can then work your blog up to the level where you get a lot of traffic. The more traffic you gain through offering people useful information will get advertisers interested.
Advertising without Too Many Links
Once you have found that your advertising space has been used up, you will just need to write more blogs. The new pages that you write can also contain links and adverts. When you are writing blogs, you must also refrain from using your actual blog content as a link farm. This could be through listing a whole of the websites that you exchange links with. This will look very obvious to your readers and put them off. They will realize that you are just promoting a product because you are getting something from it and not because you have really tried it or believe in it.
When you start a blog it should be for fun at first and if you go into it for the money, then make sure that you actually enjoy what you are writing about. Blogging can be about anything you enjoy. It can be to do with sports, engineering, baby and children’s issues, interior décor, weddings and more. These topics will be able to bring you money, but bear in mind that it will not happen overnight.
Using the internet to make money will take time, but creating a blog is something easy that anyone can do. The way to make money is to be careful and get as many people to sign up and visit your website as possible. Most importantly, don’t use your blog as a link farm.
